Blackberry-Fig Preserves

Ingredients:

1 pint blackberries, rinsed
10-12 fresh figs, stems removed and quartered
1 cup granulated sugar
zest and juice of a small lemon
two sprigs thyme

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a medium sauce pan. Heat over medium-high heat and bring to a rapid boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes, stirring frequently.
